PlayTime has been officially disqualified from the 2026 Esports World Cup in Dota 2

The organizers of the 2026 Esports World Cup announced that PlayTime has been disqualified from the Dota 2 tournament due to the temporary suspension of two team members following a decision by the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).
The Esports Foundation confirms that the PlayTime team has been removed from the Esports World Cup 2026 Dota 2 championship.
This decision followed the Esports Integrity Commission’s (ESIC) imposition of provisional suspensions on two team members. Due to these provisional measures, PlayTime no longer meets the requirements necessary to continue participating in the tournament.
The suspensions are temporary and precautionary in nature. No final decision has yet been made regarding whether any violations occurred, and the ESIC’s investigation is ongoing. Details regarding the ESIC’s measures are available in the commission’s official statement.
The Esports Foundation is making the necessary changes to the schedule and tournament bracket. Up-to-date information about the competition will be published on the official EWC channels. To avoid compromising the investigation, the Esports Foundation will refrain from further comment at this stage.
Earlier, the ESIC temporarily suspended Oswaldo Gonzalo “DarkMago” Herrera Martinez and Juan David “Vintage” Angulo Nicho of PlayTime on suspicion of violating anti-corruption rules at the Esports World Cup 2026—the team received a technical loss in their match against Vici Gaming.
