TORONTOTOKYO on leaving OG: “I can’t, I don’t want to play their style, and they don’t want to play mine.”

Former OG offlaner Alexander “TORONTOTOKYO” Hertek explained his departure from the team during a live stream on Twitch.
I think they should play their own Dota, and I should play mine. The thing is, we just don’t click. I have my own gameplay, they have theirs—let’s say that’s a given. But I can’t, and I don’t want to play their style, and they don’t want to play mine.
And I don’t have a visa yet to just randomly fly out to their bootcamp right now. They decided it would be easier for them with a Filipino player, obviously. Well, just so they wouldn’t have to change anything and could play the way they always did. What if it worked out? They thought they’d have a better chance that way. I actually agree, too—I didn’t see it firsthand... I tried playing a different kind of Dota than what they’d been playing before. Tried to tell them something there and so on. Well, I don’t know, actually, we didn’t have a bootcamp or anything. I wouldn’t say we were really trying anything there; roughly speaking, our official matches were our qualifiers.

Earlier, analyst and commentator Avery “SVG” Silverman commented on OG’s results with TORONTOTOKYO: “He’s actually a very unique player and can make teams stronger, but only the right teams. That’s definitely not the case here.”
