Team Yandex players Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov, Ammar “ATF” al-Assaf, and Ilya “CHIRA_JUNIOR” Chirtsov commented on their team’s victory at the conclusion of PGL Wallachia Season 9.
watson described the tournament as “not the toughest”:
Hi, everyone! We won Wallachia; the tournament wasn’t the toughest one. BLAST starts in a couple of days, but for now we can relax a little. Tomorrow we’re flying home to play in BLAST. Thanks to everyone who supports us! And thanks to me, too! Bye for now, everyone.
ATF called the result a good start to the season for “Yandex” and expressed hope for future victories:
Hi, how’s it going? Today, as was to be expected, we won the tournament. I said this wasn’t anything shocking. I’m modestly grateful—I won’t let it go to my head: I might end up in last place at BLAST. I hope that doesn’t happen and that we’ll have more wins.
There’s not much to say about the games—they gave it away… they can’t ban everything, what can you do? Just bad luck. And they gave up Huskar on the third map—an easy win. Great, not bad games—a good start for Yandex. I hope we win more than we did against the Falcons. Setting that legendary record twice would be even better. I’m lying in bed, hearing this news.
CHIRA_JUNIOR thanked the fans and shared his take on the tournament’s difficulty:

In the PGL Wallachia Season 9 Grand Final, the team defeated Natus Vincere 3-0. BLAST Slam VIII will begin on September 29 and run through October 11. The tournament will take place in two stages: participants in the group stage will play remotely, while those who qualify for the playoffs will fly to Malta.
