Whitemon on 1w Team’s performance at BLAST SLAM VIII: “We’ve improved in many areas, but apparently, it’s not enough.”
1w Team support player Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon spoke about the competition and discussed working with a psychologist in the team’s vlog from BLAST SLAM VIII.
About the tournament
I think this is our first tournament with Pure. Our first season. We’ve improved in many areas, but apparently that’s not enough to finish higher in the standings, let alone win.
On working with a psychologist
Yes, our psychologist is actually working with us to improve our in-game performance. He constantly talks about high mental performance and things like SPM. And to achieve good results, you need to try to optimize the intensity with which you play and work on your focus. Focus is also important.
1w Team lost to PARIVISION in the quarterfinals of the lower bracket at BLAST SLAM VIII and exited the tournament, finishing in 5th–6th place and earning $35,500.
