All Ways to Get Skins in MLBB

The developers of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang regularly release new cosmetic sets for characters, and by mid-2026, the total number had reached nearly 1,000. Some of them are available only for in-game currency or for a limited time, while others can be obtained for free in a variety of ways.
Today, we’ll tell you everything about skins in MLBB and the ways to get them—from the simplest to the most complex and costly.
What Kinds of Skins Are There in MLBB
All Mobile Legends skins can be divided into five types based on rarity: the more expensive ones add more effects to a character, but they’re also much harder to obtain.
| Rarity | Average Price | Where to Get Them | Model and animation changes |
| Common | 269–299 diamonds | Store, chests, appearance fragments | Minor model changes, no new effects |
| Elite | 599 diamonds | Store, events, appearance fragments | Significantly altered model, re-colored skill effects |
| Special | 699 Diamonds | Store, events, giveaways | Completely new model, noticeable skill effects |
| Epic | 899–1,099 diamonds | Store, events, giveaways | Significantly redesigned model, new effects, animations, and portraits |
| Legend | 8,000 to 12,000 diamonds | Special events, giveaways, Magic Wheel | Maximum model redesign, unique effects, animations, and voice acting |
In addition, there are several special skin categories tied to specific events, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang mechanics, or collaborations. Their rarity is higher than Epic but lower than Legendary—they change not only the hero’s appearance but also specific animations.
- Starlight—skins from the monthly Starlight Pass. Sets from previous seasons sometimes appear in the shop;
- Zodiac — skins dedicated to the signs of the zodiac, which can be obtained from the Zodiac Summon event;
- Seasonal (Seasons)—a new series of skins themed around the seasons;
- Exorcist — a special series of “dark” skins with a unique backstory, released as part of special events about once a year;
- Covenant — unique skins connected by a single story, also released as part of themed events.
- M-Skins (M7, M6, and so on)—sets released once a year for the M World Championship. Some of these later reappear in subsequent events.
- Event Skins (Naruto, FMVP, and others)—skins created to celebrate major events and collaborations.
Some sources use a different classification: Common → Exceptional → Luxurious → Exquisite → Elegant → Legendary. Common skins include older base sets, while expensive event skins are referred to as elegant.
All skins can be found in the “Collection” section, and if you want to see all the sets for a specific character, simply select them from the “Heroes” menu.

How to Get Skins in MLBB
In Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, there are many ways to get new skins for heroes. Some skins can be purchased directly with Diamonds, while others are only available during limited-time events or special giveaways. This means you can expand your collection both through in-app purchases and for free—by participating in various in-game activities.
Store
Many MLBB skins are sold in the regular shop for Diamonds. In total, there are over 300 different skins available there. These are mainly standard, elite, and special sets, but from time to time, the selection is expanded to include skins from past collaborations and events, as well as items of Covenant, Zodiac, and similar quality tiers.
The base price for a skin in the store is 269 diamonds; the most expensive cosmetic items cost up to 899 diamonds. From time to time, the MLBB developers run sales: during these events, the minimum price drops to 219 diamonds, and certain items can be purchased for 50% or even 10% of the standard price.
You can also view all MLBB skins in the store: if there’s no “Buy” button, a note will appear below the image indicating the event during which that skin was available to claim.

Fragment Store
One way to get a skin for free is to buy it in a separate store using fragments. You earn this currency by leveling up your Star Player and participating in giveaways, and you can find the list of available skins in the Store > Fragments menu (the bottom-most option).
The premium skins section features 30 sets (this number may vary), each costing 250 fragments. The store also features 15 skins, including Starlight-rarity skins from past Star Pass seasons—prices range from 60 to 200 fragments. In the third section, you can purchase one of 20 heroes for 120 units of currency.

Starlight Member
On the first day of every month, the “Starlight Member” battle pass is updated in MLBB, allowing you to earn resources and rewards for playing matches and completing tasks.
The main reward is a unique Starlight skin, available only for one month, but you can get it in the paid version of “Starlight Member” for 300 diamonds (and an additional style is unlocked for 100 more diamonds). For example, in July 2026, Mobile Legends added Beleric’s “Smoldering Fortress” skin
In addition, some older Starlight skins eventually appear in the Fragment Store or during special events. If you play MLBB regularly and are willing to make in-game purchases from time to time, a subscription remains one of the most cost-effective ways to expand your collection.

Giveaways
Most of the most beautiful and rare skins in Mobile Legends can only be obtained during special giveaways. Virtually all banners work on a similar principle: players spend diamonds on attempts, receive random rewards, and gradually accumulate special tokens or event currency. Even if the skin you want doesn’t drop directly, you can almost always exchange for it after a certain number of spins.
Mobile Legends features two types of permanent gacha events that refresh monthly, as well as a Magic Crystal banner. Other similar events appear from time to time and are tied to themed events.
- Grand Collection — a monthly gacha where you can obtain exclusive Collector skins, as well as epic and other valuable rewards;
- Zodiac Summon—allows you to obtain 13 zodiac skins dedicated to specific zodiac signs;
- Magic Wheel — a permanent draw where you can exchange magic crystals for legendary skins;
- Lucky Spin — a permanent event where you can use tickets for a free spin once a day, with a small chance to win a special skin;
- Skin Series Events — limited-time events dedicated to specific skin lines (Exorcists, Covenant) or major collaborations (with “Naruto,” “Star Wars,” and so on).
Almost all giveaways require diamonds—one attempt usually costs 100 diamonds, and on average, a player needs to spend 8,000–12,000 in-game crystals to win a skin. However, during some events, tickets are available for free by completing tasks.

Trial Skins in MLBB
For matches played, participation in events, and other activities in MLBB, you’ll often receive treasure chests containing random trial skins or the skins themselves. This lets you try out Common, Elite, and Epic cosmetic sets for free—usually, each skin you receive is available for the next 24 hours after application.
After opening a chest, the trial skin is not automatically applied. This means it will remain available in your Bag at all times, and you can activate it at any moment (for example, by selecting it from the list before a match starts). Some chests also let you choose a trial skin from several options.
Events in MLBB
Mobile Legends regularly hosts limited-time events—these often offer exclusive new sets, and the rewards almost always include skin fragments for the shop. Participating in these events isn’t required, but if you want to expand your collection, it’s a great way to do so—especially since most event skins can only be obtained during the event.
There are several main types of events in MLBB:
- a major seasonal event—which usually adds new mini-games and modes, changes the map, and rewards you with a free new skin for completing it;
- a major collaboration event—a large-scale event tied to a major franchise (such as *Naruto*, *Star Wars*, or *Street Fighter*). The most eye-catching skins are usually up for grabs in a raffle, but one might be given away for free;
- giveaway events—these add practically nothing to the game besides a banner featuring new sets. These can be either crossovers or original series (for example, The Exorcists);
- Mini-events—usually last 1–2 weeks, and you’ll receive a standard skin for logging into MLBB and playing matches.
On our website, you can always find guides for current events, as well as a calendar of events the developer plans to hold in the near future.

How to Get Skins in MLBB for Free
You can get new skins in Mobile Legends without spending real money. Of course, the rarest collectible skins almost always require Diamonds, but the developers regularly give out free rewards for being active, participating in events, and completing various tasks.
There are several ways to get skins for free:
- Fragment Store. Earn skin fragments through events, giveaways, and other activities, then exchange them for permanent skins;
- In-Game Events. During major events, the developers often give away common, elite, or special skins for completing simple tasks;
- Gifts via Mail. After major updates, holidays, or as compensation for maintenance, players are sometimes sent permanent skins for free;
- Trial skins and chests. Although these skins aren’t permanent, they let you try out dozens of different looks for free.
- Giveaways with free spins. Almost every major event includes several free spins, and sometimes that’s enough to get a full skin.
In addition, free skins are awarded for certain achievements and other activities in MLBB. You can expand your collection even without buying diamonds—although the rarest and most beautiful skins are only available through in-app purchases, you’ll be able to collect several sets for your favorite heroes just by playing Mobile Legends and participating in events.
