Nagib on drafts at Level UP: “denaliens often pays more attention to the draft—that is, he just asks us for advice.”

Level UP roamer Maxim “Nagib” Dudich, in an interview on the Silence MLBB YouTube channel, named his preferred opponent for the MLBB Continental Championships Season 8 playoffs and talked about how the team’s drafts work.

On whether he’d prefer to face Aurevia Team or RAKUZAN in the playoffs

I wouldn’t say that Aurevia Team is all that different from RAKUZAN. Have you seen the games against Team Spirit? Well, we can definitely play just as well against Spirit. We’re pumped up from boot camp. You’ve even seen the win rate. If you look at the win rates, Spirit has, like, 88, Yandex has 85, and everyone else has 50, 40, or 30. So, well, those percentages are kind of inconsistent. I think RAKUZAN and Aurevia Team are on the same level.

On how drafts work within the team

We draft together. denaliens usually keeps a closer eye on the draft—he basically just consults with us. And we’re trying to communicate better as a team now. Before, denaliens used to draft on his own. Somewhere around the middle of the season, we realized it’s better to discuss things together—to jot down in advance what we want and don’t want. And things actually started working out better.

On the long break from the pro scene

Well, they replaced me. What can you do? I was on the bench. I was just commentating, though. I mean? I was commentating, yeah, and, well, I commentated on MCC regularly, and I really enjoyed it. I was, like, keeping up with esports here and there. [No, I mean, why didn’t you play? I mean, didn’t you get any invitations, or did you just want to take a longer break?] I had a contract with Virtus.pro, so I couldn’t just… ilovee was inviting me to join Magic, but I couldn’t just say, “Guys, let’s do it.” Like, I have a contract, so I can’t. They’d have to buy me out or something. In the end, I’ve sorted those issues out for now. I mean, the next season is already starting.
