Aurora is a mage in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang who specializes in area-of-effect crowd control and dealing magic damage. She can freeze multiple enemies at once, prevent them from using their abilities, and turn the tide of team fights. In this guide, we’ll break down Aurora’s abilities, the best items and emblems, and explain how to play her effectively and who to watch out for.

Aurora is a control mage who typically plays the mid lane. Her main objective is to quickly clear minions, assist allies in other areas of the map, and immobilize enemies during battles. She performs particularly well against teams that have to stay close together.
You can purchase the hero in the in-game store for 24,000 Battle Points or 499 Diamonds. Sometimes you can also try out Aurora for free during a limited-time character rotation or earn her as part of special in-game events if she’s included in the reward list.
Aurora’s main strength lies in her combination of massive damage and sustained crowd control. She can halt enemy advances, protect allies from assassins, and help her team win the battle for the Lord or the Turtle. In addition, her passive ability gives her an extra chance to survive a lethal attack.
However, Aurora has virtually no mobility. She cannot dash on her own, so she relies heavily on positioning and timely skill usage. Fast assassins capable of closing in are particularly dangerous for this mage.
Aurora has four abilities: one passive and three active. Her skills allow her to slow and freeze enemies, then deal massive area-of-effect magic damage to them.
When taking lethal damage, Aurora freezes herself for 1.5 seconds. During this time, she becomes invulnerable and gradually restores 30% of her maximum health. The effect triggers automatically and then has a 150-second cooldown.
“Codex of Ice” is especially useful against assassins who are counting on taking down the mage in a single combo. While Aurora is frozen, her allies can come to her aid or prepare a counterattack. However, she herself cannot move during this time, so she remains vulnerable once the effect ends.
Another unique feature of this hero is that her freeze effect applies not only to characters but also to enemy towers. This allows her to briefly halt their attacks and assist her allies during an offensive.
Aurora summons an ice block that falls onto the selected area, dealing magic damage and slowing affected enemies by 40% for one second. After the initial strike, five more ice shards crash to the ground, each dealing additional damage to nearby enemies.
“Deadly Hail” is useful for quickly clearing waves of minions and gradually chipping away at an enemy mage’s health. Thanks to its relatively short cooldown, this ability allows you to keep your opponent under constant pressure without having to get too close.
Try to use this ability when the enemy is about to finish off a minion or has already used a movement ability. This will make it harder for them to dodge the hit. The slow also helps set up a follow-up freeze.
Aurora releases a stream of frosty air in a fan-shaped area in front of her. Enemies hit by the ability take magic damage and are frozen for one second. An icy area also appears at the far end of the affected zone, dealing additional damage.
“Frost Wind” is the primary tool for defending against approaching enemies. It can be used to stop an assassin, interrupt a dangerous charge, or hold back multiple enemies at once before using your ultimate.
The ability has a fairly long cooldown, so you shouldn’t use it at every opportunity. If the enemy jungler has disappeared from the map, it’s better to save the freeze for self-defense. It’s especially important to time your use correctly against characters with multiple dashes: wait until they’ve used up at least some of their mobility abilities.
Aurora creates a wide icy path in the selected direction, dealing magic damage and slowing enemies by 80% for 1.2 seconds. Glaciers then form along the path; after a short delay, they shatter, dealing massive area-of-effect damage and freezing affected targets.
“Merciless Glacier” is most effective in team fights, especially when enemies are close together or forced to pass through a narrow section of the map. This ability allows you to control an entire area and create favorable conditions for your allies to attack.
Be aware of the delay before the main impact. Mobile characters can leave the danger zone, so it’s best to immobilize them first with your second ability or wait for an allied tank to apply its crowd control.
At level 1, learn “Deadly Hail” to clear minions faster. At level two, unlock “Frost Wind,” then prioritize upgrading your first ability in the standard build. This will help you deal damage more frequently and maintain pressure on the lane. Upgrade your second ability next, and upgrade your ultimate at available levels.
If you need to increase the damage from the stun, you can prioritize upgrading “Frost Wind” first. However, the duration of its base crowd control does not depend directly on the upgrade level.
Aurora has several useful combos:

Aurora needs magic power, additional ability damage, and the ability to move safely across the map. The core build enhances her area-of-effect attacks and helps her handle both fragile heroes and more durable opponents.
For standard mid-lane play, you can use the following six items:
The order in which you purchase the final items can be adjusted. If opponents haven’t yet built up much magic resistance, it’s acceptable to buy the “Sacred Crystal” before the “Divine Sword” to increase the base damage of your abilities.
You can pick up “Blood Wings” if opponents have targeted Aurora. This item increases magic power, provides an additional shield, and aids with movement. Thanks to this, the mage can more easily survive sudden attacks. Depending on the situation, it can be equipped in place of the “Staff of Lightning” or the “Lantern of Wishes.”

The Mage Emblem is best suited for Aurora. It increases magical power, provides additional magical penetration, and reduces ability cooldowns. This helps her deal more damage and use crowd control abilities more frequently.
For standard gameplay, you can choose the following talents:
For a more aggressive playstyle, you can use a different combination: “Agility,” “Weapons Master,” and “Deadly Ignition.”
“Agility” further increases movement speed, making it easier to move around and choose your position. “Weapons Master” boosts attack stats gained from gear and other sources, while “Deadly Ignition” allows you to deal bonus damage after a series of successful hits.
The optimal combat spell for Aurora is “Flash.” It allows her to instantly move a short distance, dodge a dangerous attack, or overcome an obstacle. Since Aurora has no dash abilities of her own, “Flash” is often her only way to quickly evade pursuit. The spell also helps her close the distance unexpectedly to freeze an important target.
Aurora is most effective when she stays at a safe distance and uses her abilities to control enemies. Her main task is to assist allies in battle, freeze dangerous targets at the right moment, and deal massive magical damage.

At the start of the match, head to the mid lane and use “Deadly Hail” to clear minions. Try to hit the enemy mage at the same time to gradually chip away at their health. After clearing a wave, help your allies on adjacent lanes and participate in battles for the Turtle. While doing so, keep an eye on the minimap and don’t go into the bushes without support: Aurora is vulnerable to surprise attacks.
By mid-game, Aurora begins to deal significant damage thanks to the items she’s collected. Move with your team more often and stay behind the tank, who can absorb the initial attack. Use “Frost Wind” and “Merciless Glacier” to freeze multiple enemies and help your allies take them down. If the enemy team has mobile assassins, save your second ability for defense.
Late in the game, try to control narrow passages and areas near the Lord. A single well-executed skill combo can decide the outcome of a team fight, especially if you manage to freeze an enemy marksman or mage. Don’t get too close to the front lines, and don’t chase enemies alone. At this stage, Aurora’s death could leave the team without crucial crowd control.
Aurora struggles against mobile assassins capable of quickly closing the distance and dodging her freeze. Lancelot, Ling, Fanny, and Joy are particularly dangerous: thanks to their dashes, they can close in on the mage and eliminate her before she can retaliate. Another troublesome opponent is Diggy, whose ultimate protects allies from crowd control. Against such heroes, it’s important to stay close to your team and save “Frost Wind” for self-defense.
Atlas, Tigril, and Ruby are considered Aurora’s best allies. They can pull enemies in and keep them in place, allowing the mage to use her abilities effectively and deal massive damage. High-damage assassins, such as Hayabusa and Lancelot, are also good partners for her, as they can quickly finish off frozen targets.
