Sekys on Kramm’s suspension: “The community’s support really helped us back then.”

In Paris, we had the chance to speak with Selangor Red Giants’ jungler, Sekys. In an interview with OFFSTAGE, Muhammad shared his impressions of the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2026, commented on Kramm’s recent suspension, and spoke about Hirara’s strength.

Hi! How do you like Paris? What are your impressions of the tournament so far?

I think this MSC is much more interesting than the previous one. It’s taking place in Paris instead of Riyadh. I’m sure many players have dreamed of visiting Europe.

Your team recently won the Malaysian league championship. How much more competitive do you think the MSC is compared to the MPL?

My impression is that the MSC is a more challenging tournament than the MPL. In Malaysia, we’re constantly dominating and don’t face much resistance. At the MSC, however, the strongest teams from their respective regions come to compete, so the competition here is noticeably tougher.

With this roster, you won the 2024 Mid Season Cup, becoming the first team in a long time from outside the Philippines and Indonesia to win a Tier 1 trophy. What were your thoughts at the time? Are you ready to win the championship again this year?

To be honest, we weren’t expecting to win and viewed participating in the tournament as a learning experience. I’m very glad we managed to win back then. I’m confident that with our fighting spirit and solid preparation, we can become champions again.

Your team has been playing with the current roster for 2.5 years now. How much does this factor influence your results? To what extent are mutual understanding and team chemistry more important than new players who can bring fresh ideas?

I think both factors are equally important. If we look back at MSC 2024, we became champions as a very young team. At the same time, mutual understanding and chemistry are also very important, because they make it easier for the team to come together and play as a unit.

How much did Kramm’s disqualification during the season affect your team? Did you support your teammate?

That situation definitely affected our team. At the time, the support from the community really helped us. People made sure we didn’t panic or give up. That was important for Kramm, too. No one wanted him to blame himself for what happened. We constantly supported each other and got through it together.

After Hirara’s release, many people said she wasn’t strong enough, but you immediately singled her out as a hero you could use to climb the ranks. Why do you think the community’s opinion was so divided? Is she really that hard to play?

Many people consider Hirara a mediocre hero with low damage. She’s difficult to master if you’re a beginner or don’t play often. But once you get used to her, she can really help you climb the ranks. Hirara is a hero with great potential.

After this MSC, you’ll head straight to the Games of the Future in Kazakhstan. How did you decide to go to this tournament? Are you confident that such a packed schedule won’t affect the team?

I’m used to a busy schedule. Over the past two years, we’ve often played several tournaments in a row. Our team is happy to participate in any events—that way we can gain experience and earn some extra money.
