Tokio on the first match at MWI: “We could have played much better because we expected more from ourselves.”

Geltek Cyber Team mid-laner Karolina “Tokio” Pavlova, in an interview with OFFSTAGE, commented on the team’s victory over Geekay Esports FE in the upper bracket quarterfinals of the MLBB Women’s International 2026 group stage, discussed the team’s adaptation to the new meta, and shared their plans for preparing for the match against Twisted Minds VN.
On the match against Geekay Esports FE
I’m not very happy with the result. We could have played much better because we expected more from ourselves. Well, I think it’s because it was the first match and we’re just getting into the swing of things. So… I’m more or less satisfied. But I’m definitely not upset.
On the team’s performance in the current MLBB meta
We’ve adapted well to the new meta because we have a large pool of heroes for both the jungle and the roam roles. So it wasn’t too difficult for us.
On the importance of winning on the first day of the tournament
Generally speaking, it was important for us to win the first match because it always puts us in a good mood and fills the team with positivity.
On the upcoming match against Twisted Minds VN
Actually, our coaching staff—Coach Ospreay and analyst Selfdestruct—is the one who studies our opponents. Well, they more or less told us what to expect from them. We’re not afraid; we’re ready.
On the team’s plans ahead of the next day of competition
Actually, today’s plan was already set yesterday. We have three practice sessions scheduled with the teams playing here. And, as far as I know, we won’t be done until 11 p.m., and then we’ll just go to sleep.
