Chell on Geltek Cyber Team: “They had very strong drafts, and every player had a great understanding of their pick.”

The players of Team Vitality’s women’s MLBB roster and the organization’s Director of International Affairs, Danny “huSKy” Engels, in a press conference following the MWI 2026 Grand Final, summarized the team’s performance at the tournament, named the most memorable match of the event, assessed their opponents, and discussed the team’s contract extension through 2030 and plans for the development of women’s esports.

On the most memorable moment of the tournament

Chell: I think it was the series against Falcons Vega. We were very confident going into it, but the first two games didn’t go well—and that made us doubt ourselves.

On the team that surprised everyone at the tournament

Chell: Probably Geltek Cyber Team—they had very strong drafts, and every player understood their pick perfectly, so it was immediately clear that they knew what they were doing.

On the rematch against Natus Vincere PH

Fumi: I think the difference between our teams lies primarily in experience and mental toughness—they have quite a few new players on their roster.

On winning MWI 2026 and extending his contract with the team through 2030

huSKy: We saw what Vitality stands for through the fans who were right there with us, cheering us on—it was an incredible experience for all of us. That’s why we’re incredibly happy that we were able to win right here in Paris. The biggest news for us was the decision made back in Jakarta at the beginning of the year—we extended our contract with the team through 2030. People probably don’t fully understand the pressure the girls were under: it wasn’t just a rematch against Natus Vincere PH, but also a very early matchup against Gen.G Esports. What the team demonstrated throughout the entire tournament was incredible resilience. If I had to describe this title in one word, it would be resilience.

On the organization’s goals and the development of women’s esports

huSKy: Our goal is for them to win the title again and again. At Vitality, we want to continue developing women’s esports—not only in Southeast Asia, but around the world. We also strive to be at the forefront of mobile gaming. And we have excellent representatives to make that happen.

On what makes Team Vitality a tough opponent

huSKy: Of course, the experience—the fact that this five-player squad has been playing together—is invaluable. But their level of confidence has also changed. In 2024, the vibe wasn’t the same as in 2025, but this year it reminded me more of 2025—only with even more enjoyment of the game. If you watch them on stage and listen to their voice chat—there’s so much laughter, so much joy in the game. You’re only truly good when you’re having fun playing. It’s precisely this chemistry, combined with their growing confidence, that makes them so dangerous.
