Midnight on Team Liquid PH: “This is one of the strongest teams in MLBB history.”

Aurora Gaming coach Neil “Midnight” De Guzman and commentator Remnar “Reptar” Santa Cruz discussed Team Liquid PH’s playing style and the outcome of the MPL Philippines Season 17 Grand Final on the 8G podcast, and also assessed the possibility of Clayton “Savero” Kuswanto from ONIC Philippines.
On Team Liquid PH
Midnight: Team Liquid PH, in essence, never imposes its own style on matches. It agrees to play by the opponent’s rules, but at the same time anticipates all of the opponent’s moves. It reminds me of chess. Liquid makes a move and already knows how its opponent will react. In such cases, even a tempo advantage doesn’t help. This is one of the strongest teams in MLBB history.
On the MPL Philippines Season 17 Grand Final
Reptar: It was really interesting to watch the showdown between Liquid and the Falcons in the MPL Philippines Season 17 Grand Final. The first team is capable of displaying an incredible level of play even in practice, while the second looms over it like a slowly approaching shadow. It seems the Falcons are just a hair’s breadth away from finally beating Liquid. These guys have their own ideas. Do I agree with them completely? Of course not. However, the Falcons definitely have the potential to become the region’s best team if they keep up this momentum.
On Savero’s potential departure from ONIC Philippines
Midnight: To be honest, I doubt Savero will leave ONIC Philippines. He’s an excellent gold laner… Since Indonesian teams are constantly poaching our players, let’s at least keep Savero in the Philippines.
Reptar: The bigger question here is whether the club will agree to sell the player. Indonesian organizations will definitely be making offers to sign Savero, but I don’t think they’ll let him go.
Earlier on the podcast, Midnight and Reptar discussed the standout days of the tournament playoffs, highlighted the best players of MPL Philippines Season 17, and shared their thoughts on the esports players who showed the most improvement over the course of the event.
