Sunset Lover on Team Spirit’s 9th–12th-place finish at the 2026 Games of the Future: “We were really tired; we didn’t get a single day off.”

Team Spirit mid laner Kemiran “Sunset Lover” Kochkarov commented in an interview with OFFSTAGE on the “Dragons’” 9th–12th-place finish at the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competition as part of the 2026 Future Games and reflected on the volatility of the mobile MOBA tournament meta.

On the team’s 9th–12th-place finish at the 2026 Future Games

The result is disappointing. We made a big mistake there, one we’ve already learned from and corrected. In any case, this result wasn’t all that sad because we won the previous tournament. That said, if we’d finished in the same spot—9th–12th—at both the MLBB Mid-Season Cup 2026 and the Games of the Future, it would’ve been really sad. Not just sad—I’d be in a total slump. What’s there to say?

That’s it. But overall, so what if we finished 9th–12th? Oh well. We were really tired; we didn’t get a single day of rest. That’s why our performance at the Games of the Future 2026 was poor… Oh well, what can you do?

On the feasibility of three slots for the EECA region in the M8 World Championship

As for whether it’s deserved, I don’t know, because that will be shown by the teams that make it to the wild card. Three teams advance to the M8 via the wild card, and if our rosters secure two of the three slots in the M8 World Championship and we have three teams in the main stage, then it’s certainly well-deserved. If none of our teams make it, then obviously it won’t be deserved at all.

On the difference between the MLBB Mid-Season Cup 2026 meta and future tournaments

I’d say it’s already different, because the meta is slowly shifting. Players figure out how to play against a certain hero and find counters for it. Then they find counters to those counters, and that’s how the strategic back-and-forth unfolds. Every week, there’s some kind of change—a hero might be added, or one might be removed. A small patch might also be released that changes things as well. So a lot depends on what the teams do.

Earlier, Kemiran discussed their opponents at the upcoming MLBB Continental Championships Season 8 in an interview with OFFSTAGE: “I know Team Yandex will be there; I can’t remember the other teams. That’s it. The main contenders for the top spot against us are Team Yandex—for now.”
