The organizers of MPL Cambodia have imposed sanctions on CFU Gaming and its players for breaching their contractual obligations.
Representatives of MPL Cambodia posted a statement on the tournament’s social media accounts, addressing the breach of contractual obligations by CFU Gaming and its players, Soka “BOXI” Viera and Nhem “Detective” Chandavan.
We would like to address the MPL Cambodia community.
We understand that many of you have been following the recent dispute between CFU Gaming, BOXI, and Detective. After hearing from all parties involved and thoroughly reviewing the complaints, MPL Cambodia has resolved this matter in collaboration with the Cambodian Esports Federation.
CFU Gaming, BOXI, and Detective engaged in conduct that does not meet esports standards. As a result, disciplinary measures will be imposed on all parties involved in the conflict.
- CFU Gaming failed to fulfill its obligations to the players and the league. The organization will forfeit 50% of the MPL Cambodia Season 10 prize pool, amounting to $2,500.
- Sok “BOXI” Viera refused to play for CFU Gaming and publicly disclosed confidential information about his contract. He will receive a two-match suspension in MPL Cambodia Season 11.
- Nhem “Detective” Chandawan falsely claimed that he had not received his salary and published details of his contract with CFU Gaming. He will also receive a two-match suspension in the next season.
It should be noted that CFU Gaming has paid off all debts and reached an agreement with the players to terminate their contracts early.
It’s impossible to succeed when disputes are resolved in this manner and undermine trust within the community. Let’s work together to maintain a fair and safe environment for everyone.
In May, CFU Gaming finished third in MPL Cambodia Season 10, losing to PRO Esports 3-4 in the lower bracket final. It is unknown who will replace the departing roamer BOXI and jungler Detective on the team.
