A new wave of bans has swept through CS2—more than 8,000 accounts were banned in a single day

Last Friday, June 19, Valve carried out a new wave of account bans in Counter-Strike 2. This information was shared by the csstats.gg portal.
According to the service’s data, a total of 8,217 bans were issued on June 19. The specific reasons for the bans were not disclosed, but it’s worth noting that over the past month, Valve has been banning an average of about 500 accounts per day.
This wave of bans coincided with the game’s 27th anniversary, in honor of which the developers reached out to fans to thank them for their loyalty to Counter-Strike.
The previous wave of bans took place on March 26 of this year, when a total of 17,350 VAC bans were issued. At that time, the bans were imposed on cheaters as well as accounts caught farming weekly rewards and experience.
