ASTRA announced her transition from Counter-Strike 2 to VALORANT
French esports player Meilin-Joy “ASTRA” Champlio made an official announcement on her social media accounts regarding her change in discipline. She decided to leave the women’s Counter-Strike 2 scene due to its gradual decline.
Given the recent news about the collapse of the women’s CS scene and the lack of upcoming tournaments, I’m missing out on practice and competition. That’s why I’ve decided to switch to VALORANT and focus on this growing scene. My goals remain the same as they were in CS: I want to compete only for the top, become the best version of myself—both for myself and for my teammates—and create great memories along the way. It wasn’t an easy decision, but now I’m happy, full of enthusiasm, and dedicated to what I do, and I’m taking on this challenge with great pleasure. I’m very excited about this new chapter in my life and can’t wait to move forward. I want to note that I haven’t played this game very much and realize that I lack knowledge and playtime, but I have experience in CS that will translate to Valorant. I’m hardworking and determined to learn, provided I’m given the necessary resources in a timely manner. At this point, I can adapt flexibly to your team’s needs and am ready to take on the following roles: dueler, initiator, and smoker. Please message me privately with any questions.
Previously, French esports player Meylin-Joy “ASTRA” Champlio competed professionally for the women’s teams of European organizations such as Natus Vincere and BIG. At the end of 2025, HLTV named her the best female player of the year in Counter-Strike 2.
