FUT Esports coach András “coolio” Ferchak, in an interview at the 2026 CS2 Esports World Cup, shared his thoughts after advancing to the event’s quarterfinals, discussed the challenges of facing magic, and commented on potential opponents in the next round.
Fortunately, we won. I think we started this match feeling pretty nervous, just like we did at the Major against BetBoom Team. The pressure of the game weighed heavily on us, which is why we didn’t play the way we should have. However, after the first map, we had a productive discussion, finally found our rhythm, and were able to beat our opponent.
I think the problem was that we didn’t stick to our plan. We gave our opponents too much space on the map. The team played passively again and just waited, while our opponents played great and completely controlled the map. We either didn’t react to their actions at all, or we did so much too late. Because of this, our opponents found themselves in very advantageous situations time and time again. I think the key moment was the round where we lost in a 4-on-1 situation—that allowed them to gain momentum. Honestly, if we had won that round, the game could have played out completely differently.
I don’t think we’ve ever played against GamerLegion before. If they beat MOUZ, it’ll be our first match against them, so I can’t say anything about their style right now. But with MOUZ, it’s a different story: we’ve beaten them three times in a row with completely different rosters. I’d say they’re a pretty manageable opponent for our team. Matches against them are always hard-fought, since they clearly play very well. I’m not saying we’re guaranteed to win again, but historically, MOUZ has been a manageable opponent for our team.
Earlier, FUT Esports defeated magic in their first playoff match at the 2026 Esports World Cup for Counter-Strike 2 with a 2-1 map score in a best-of-3 series. András “coolio” Ferchak’s team will play in the tournament’s quarterfinals today, August 21, at 2:00 p.m. Moscow time.
