Analysts Duncan “Thorin” Shields and Alexander “kassad” Trifunović shared their thoughts on their personal pages on social media platform X regarding the team’s gameplay issues and Natus Vincere’s underwhelming performance at the 2026 Esports World Cup in CS2.
Experts in the esports community agreed that the roster’s current form makes it unlikely they will win any championship titles.
Duncan “Thorin” Shields commented on the team’s in-game issues as follows:
Natus Vincere’s main problem is that in some matches, the team simply lacks firepower. Furthermore, it no longer has a dominant map at the highest professional level. It’s still a good roster that plays Counter-Strike the right way and is capable of giving any opponent a run for their money, but winning trophies now seems like an impossible task.
Alexander “kassad” Trifunović spoke about the team’s performance and also commented on their opponent’s form:
What a disgraceful match from Natus Vincere at one of their most important tournaments of the season. Legacy dominated their opponent in every possible aspect of the game. Where was makazze, that great star? Say what you will about jL, but in matches like this, he always took control of the situation. On the other hand, Legacy looks extremely well-prepared and incredibly confident in everything they do. Duels, decision-making, gameplay—literally everything was top-notch. Their current form is reminiscent of the days when they won the CAC. <...>
Natus Vincere lost to Legacy 0–2 in their first match of the Esports World Cup 2026 playoffs. The match ended in defeat for Drin “makazze” Shakiri’s team, with scores of 9–13 on Inferno and 2–13 on Ancient.
