Natus Vincere captain Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, shared his thoughts ahead of the match against Legacy in an interview at the 2026 CS2 Esports World Cup, discussed the history of their matchups with the Brazilian club, and reflected on their opponents’ map pick.
We’re feeling great. We’ve had a couple of days to train and, of course, to participate in media events here at the EWC. We know we’ve landed in a tough part of the bracket. Regardless of who wins today’s match, the road to the finals from here on out will be very tough. Legacy, for its part, even though it isn’t considered by the community to be an elite team in the world’s top 5, has always been a bit of a “Kryptonite” for us. In recent tournaments, this team has performed very well against us. Even though we came out on top last time, today’s match won’t be easy.
It’s hard to say which team benefits more from such frequent matchups. We know each other’s playstyles all too well. On top of that, we also practiced against Legacy before this championship. Of course, there’s also something new in the form of try, who has become our opponents’ new sniper. Perhaps this gives us a slight advantage, since we’ve been playing with the same roster for longer. In any case, it’s a morning match, and we need to be ready for anything.
I won’t argue that Legacy has an impressive win rate on Inferno, but I think the factor of facing a specific opponent is more important. Overall, we have a similar map pool. Ultimately, the outcome of the match depends more on the preparation and individual form of the players on both teams.
Aleksib Virolainen’s team is currently facing off against Legacy in the first round of the playoffs at the 2026 Esports World Cup for CS2. At the time of publication, Natus Vincere is trailing 0–1 in the series after losing on Inferno.
