dastan on PARIVISION’s CS2 goals: “Our main goal is to qualify for a Major.”

PARIVISION coach Dastan “dastan” Akbaev, in an exclusive interview with OFFSTAGE at the Esports World Cup 2026 for Counter-Strike 2, assessed the team’s current map pool, compared his squad to 100 Thieves, and shared his thoughts ahead of the upcoming match against MOUZ.

On the team’s map pool

Anubis was a map we spent a lot of time on, and it’s great that our work paid off, because if you look at our map win rate right now, we have a couple of strong maps and three that are total flops. And we started... Usually, when we bring in new players, we start with our strong maps so we can at least pick something, but this time we took a different approach.

On comparing PARIVISION to 100 Thieves

They don’t have that deep level of team chemistry. We realize they’re somewhat similar to us, except they have three experienced players and two young ones, while we have three young players and two veterans. dev1ce, rain, and gla1ve—they’re the three leaders there, just like we have.

On the upcoming match against MOUZ

Of course, after today’s victory, we feel more confident. But I don’t know—they’re still the favorites because they’ve come further and won the last BLAST. I don’t think there’s any incredible pressure on us there, since our main goal is to qualify for a Major—first and foremost, to do it calmly, without getting nervous, and to earn more VRS. Personally, I’m happy with the guys—the way they played today was intense.

On B8 Esports’ victory over Team Vitality

And today I’d like to highlight this moment—B8 Esports beat Team Vitality. We sat down right after their match, and I congratulated them; this is a team... We started this journey together with PARIVISION—well, at the same level—and the fact that they beat them today, I think, gave us a boost of confidence too. If those guys could win, then so can we.

As a result of the match, they finished in 25th–32nd place in the tournament, while PARIVISION will continue in the competition and face MOUZ in their next match.
