Devilwalk on KSCERATO: “It seemed to me that he looked a little lackluster at this Major.”

Analyst Jonathan “Devilwalk” Lundberg spoke about Team Falcons captain Finn “karrigan” Andersen in the latest episode of the All About Counter-Strike podcast, and also assessed the performances of Team Spirit and FURIA at the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
On karrigan and his gameplay
He has the courage to do something simply because he sees it. He acts on instinct, finds an opening, and realizes that an opportunity might arise there. And there aren’t many players in the world capable of doing that on stage. And I think that’s exactly what, to some extent, makes karrigan so great in live matches—because he’s constantly trying to make something happen. He loves it.
On Team Spirit and the Major Final
I was really looking forward to seeing Team Spirit in the final and thought it was the perfect opportunity for everyone because of the cracks we saw in Team Vitality’s game. So for Spirit, this is certainly a disappointment. I’m sure it stings; they’ve probably been rewatching that final and telling themselves, “That could have been us.” But, overall, that’s just how things go at a Major.
On FURIA’s performance
They were the best team in their half of the bracket. I think it’s fair to say that. The problem I have with FURIA’s run is that you can’t take anything away from them either. They did everything they were supposed to do in the playoffs. But it’s still hard for me… Yes, it’s hard not to wonder what would have happened if FURIA had been in the other half of the bracket. How far could they have gone then? If you look at the teams that were eliminated in the quarterfinals and semifinals on the other side… And, unfortunately, my answer is this: given what we saw… not just in the Grand Final, but throughout the entire tournament, FURIA, in my opinion, didn’t look like a Major finalist-caliber team. Unfortunately.
On KSCERATO’s performance
I rewatched the final a bit today. And I didn’t get the impression that FURIA’s aim had dropped that much. It wasn’t like that. I never once felt a moment like that… I don’t remember exactly when it was, but that highlight from KSCERATO at Site B on Inferno, when everything just starts clicking for him. I never saw any truly insane moments from KSCERATO at this tournament. And I’ve probably just gotten used to the fact that he’ll always be that second star player who shines in literally every game. It seemed to me that he looked a little lackluster at this Major. Is it fair to say that? Compared to his usual level, of course. It’s clear that the standards here are very high.
Earlier on the podcast, host James “BanKs” Banks and analyst Jonathan “Devilwalk” Lundberg summed up the IEM Cologne Major 2026 for G2 Esports and Team Vitality, and also discussed possible roster changes at Aurora Gaming.
