DFRAG will discontinue the Open Series due to a lack of funding

Tournament organizer DFRAG announced on its official page on social media platform X that it will soon stop hosting DFRAG Open Series events due to a lack of sponsorship.
Sponsorship is a key factor in continuing the DFRAG Open Series and other online tournaments in Oceania.
However, we have been unable to secure a major sponsor or attract additional funding to continue hosting this expanded online competition.
As a result, the DFRAG Open Series will conclude with Season 6 in August, after which DFRAG will focus its efforts on supporting and developing offline/LAN tournaments.
In other words: due to a lack of sponsors and funding, the DFRAG Open Series will be discontinued after Series 6, and the organizers will shift their focus to hosting and supporting LAN events.
DFRAG Open Series 1 was held last October. SemperFi Esports took first place. In the championship final, the team defeated Ground Zero Gaming 2-0 in maps and earned $2,640 in prize money.
