Yesterday marked the end of the open Last Chance Qualifier for the 2026 Esports World Cup in Counter-Strike 2. At the conclusion of the event, the top players and teams were determined, and the defense consistently dominated on the maps. The main figures and key metrics from the qualifying stage are detailed below.
Danilo “doc” Barros led the individual statistics at the Esports World Cup 2026: Last Chance Qualifier—the DENDELE CS rifler played 7 maps with a rating of 1.62. Second place went to BIG sniper Gleb “gr1ks” Gazin (1.58 over 11 maps), and third place went to 100 Thieves captain Jack “Gizmy” von Sprekelsen (1.44 over 11 maps). Next were Adam “adamS” Marian of Sangal Esports (1.43 over 7 maps) and Jamie “leakz” Bagg West Jensen of Echo (1.4 over 8 maps).
BIG emerged as the strongest team at the end of the event, with its players’ combined rating of 1.25. HEROIC took second place, finishing the qualifiers with a rating of 1.23. Next were 100 Thieves (1.22) and Inner Circle (1.19).
The most popular map in the Esports World Cup 2026 Open Qualifier was Ancient, where teams played 43 matches. Dust2 and Inferno tied for second place, while Mirage came in third. The least-played map of the event was Nuke, which was selected 26 times. It is known that the defense dominated on most maps, with the exception of Mirage.
The 2026 Esports World Cup for Counter-Strike 2 will take place in Paris from August 12 to 23. Thirty-two teams—either directly invited or having qualified—will compete for the championship. Participants will compete for a total prize pool of $2,000,000.
