dumau on Legacy’s elimination from the IEM Cologne Major 2026: “We just fell apart; we had too many problems.”

Legacy rifler Eduardo “dumau” Volkmer commented on the team’s elimination from the tournament in an interview at IEM Cologne Major 2026, summed up the season, and discussed the team’s plans following the conclusion of the championship.
On the performance at the Major
In the second stage, we didn’t perform well enough in the bo1 matches, but everything went well in the bo3s. When we advanced to the third stage, we had high expectations precisely because of the bo3 format. But we got sick, and I think that affected us too much. It seems to me that in most matches, we didn’t play our game. Even today, everyone was off their game. And I think this is the result we deserved. We just need to accept it and move on. Right now, of course, it’s tough.
On the season’s results
Overall, the season was good. But our goal was the Major. That was our main goal. And I think the way we played at this Major fell short in every way. But that’s normal. It happens to almost every team. We need to learn from this experience and move on.
On fan support
Yes, I want to thank everyone for their support. I’ve received a lot of messages from people all over the world, and that’s really nice. Thank you very much. I think this is a moment we need to reflect on. And we shouldn’t find ourselves in this situation again or go through what we just went through. We just need to try to get better. That’s all we can do for next time.
On plans after the elimination
There will be a short break. But the next Major, you could say, starts tomorrow. We need to look at what we did, analyze how we handled different situations, and just try to get better. There’s not much we can do right now—we just fell apart; we had too many problems. And, to be honest, given the level of play we showed, I don’t think we deserved to make the playoffs. Every team has problems; every team faces difficulties. But I think we didn’t handle them very well as a team. That’s all. We need to take a close look at this and try to be better for each other.
