FACEIT has banned more than 12,000 accounts for smurfing and multi-account abuse
The FACEIT platform administration announced on its official page on social network X that it had carried out a massive wave of bans, blocking 12,478 accounts. The restrictions affected users who violated the platform’s rules by smurfing and creating multiple accounts.
The violators were identified thanks to the implementation of updated detection methods, which now operate fully automatically. The platform’s administration emphasized that the new algorithms will continue to run on an ongoing basis to promptly identify dishonest users.
In addition to the bans, the developers fully compensated the affected players by restoring a total of 20 million Elo points to them. This measure benefited 544,098 honest participants on the platform. All returned rating points will be officially reflected in user statistics, which will directly affect their starting positions in the upcoming ninth competitive season.
Earlier, FACEIT announced the Challenger Queue—a new queue for Europe’s top players, which will be available during the first five days of the ninth season. In it, participants will be able to compete for a $15,000 prize pool and special awards for individual achievements.
