FACEIT has introduced Challenger Queue—a new queue for Europe’s top players with a $15,000 prize pool
The FACEIT platform has announced Challenger Queue—a new queue for Europe’s top players, which will be available during the first five days of Season 9. Participants will compete for a $15,000 prize pool and special rewards for individual achievements.
Access to the Challenger Queue will be granted to players from teams ranked in the top 50 of the European VRS rankings, as well as the top 500 players in Europe based on the results of FACEIT’s eighth season. If a player meets both criteria, their spot will be given to the next participant with the highest ELO rating.
The queue will be open daily from August 5 through August 9, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM Central European Time. Players can compete only in solo or duo matches. Players will earn six points for a win and lose four points for a loss. A streak of three or more consecutive wins will earn an additional bonus of two points for each match won.
The $10,000 prize pool will be distributed among the top ten players on the leaderboard, and an additional $5,000 will be awarded in separate categories. The organizers will also present separate awards to the best young player, the strongest independent player from the VRS rankings, the best representative of teams outside the European VRS Top 50, the best veteran over 30 years old, and the strongest player from a team in the top 10 of the VRS rankings.
Earlier, FACEIT announced that with the launch of Season 9, which begins on August 5, it will update its ban policy. The platform will increase the duration of bans for using cheats, smurfing, stream sniping, and repeat violations.
