Gabe Follower reported that the cheat detection system in Counter-Strike 2 has been strengthened
Insider and data miner Maxim “Gabe Follower” Poletaev posted on his personal page on social network X that, following the release of the Counter-Strike 2 update, major cheat providers have warned their users about Valve’s enhanced cheat detection system.
Major cheat providers have notified their users that Valve has strengthened the cheat detection system in CS2, and it has begun to detect even obvious rage hacks. For now, they are advising users to use less conspicuous features.
We’ll see how things unfold over the next few days. We’ve seen similar waves of bans before, but some of them were reversed due to false positives.
Earlier, Valve released an update for Counter-Strike 2, in which it made the Ranked Series IEM Cologne Major 2026 stickers available for purchase, updated the Boulder, Fachwerk, and Shelter, and fixed a number of bugs, including a vulnerability that allowed attackers to bypass the VACnet system.
