Sharks Esports CS2 captain Victor “gafolo” Andrade shared his thoughts in an interview on Stake Ranked Episode 2 following the victory over 9z Team, discussed the main reason behind the team’s struggles, and spoke about the upcoming match against Ninjas in Pyjamas.
On his feelings after the victory over 9z Team
For us, the victory over 9z wasn’t a big surprise. We knew the match would be tough, since we’ve played against this team many times before. I think we showed our resilience on the third map, and that’s what allowed us to win. We really had to give it our all to anticipate our opponent’s moves and keep an eye on our own mistakes, because it was actually quite difficult—we were up against a very strong team.
On the team’s difficulties
I think most of our difficulties stemmed from nervousness at the end of rounds. Yeah, we missed smokes and stuff like that. I remember missing a grenade on Overpass at a crucial moment on one of the sites, but that happens—in the end, we won, and nothing else matters.
On the upcoming match against Ninjas in Pyjamas
Honestly, it makes no difference to us whether we’re playing against a European team or a North American one; we don’t pay attention to things like that. I’ll just talk to the guys, we’ll prepare, discuss the details, and head to the match—that’s all.

Yesterday, Sharks Esports defeated 9z Team in their debut match at Stake Ranked Episode 2 in a best-of-3 series with a 2-1 map score. The team led by gafolo advanced to the upper bracket semifinals of the tournament and will face Ninjas in Pyjamas there today.
