GamerLegion advanced to the playoffs of the 2026 Esports World Cup in CS2, while Luminosity Gaming was eliminated from the event
GamerLegion defeated JijieHao, while Team Spirit proved stronger than Luminosity Gaming in the group stage matches of the 2026 Esports World Cup for CS2.
In the first match, Team Spirit faced off against Luminosity Gaming. On Ancient, Boris “magixx” Vorobyov’s team defeated their opponent with a score of 13–13. The decisive Dust2 map also went to Team Spirit (19–15).
In a parallel match, GamerLegion faced off against JijieHao. On Dust2, the Chinese club suffered a crushing 3–13 loss, and on Ancient, they lost 8–13.
As a result, Luminosity Gaming exited the 2026 Esports World Cup CS2 in 25th–32nd place, Team Spirit and JijieHao will face off in the lower bracket semifinals, and GamerLegion advanced to the tournament’s playoffs.
The 2026 CS2 Esports World Cup is taking place in Paris from August 12 to 23, 2026. The LAN championship matches are being held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles convention center, while the finals will take place at the Accor Arena. Thirty-two teams are competing in the event, which features a $2,000,000 prize pool.
