GamerLegion and BIG won their debut matches at the 2026 CS2 Esports World Cup

GamerLegion and BIG secured victories in their opening matches of the group stage at the 2026 Esports World Cup for Counter-Strike 2.
The first match between Luminosity Gaming and GamerLegion took place on Nuke, with Janusz “Snax” Pogozhelski’s team emerging victorious (13-3). In a parallel match on Cache, BIG faced off against Aurora Gaming; ultimately, the German club proved stronger than its opponents, securing a 13-9 victory.
As a result, GamerLegion and BIG advanced to the Group A upper bracket semifinals, while Luminosity Gaming and Aurora Gaming dropped to the first round of the lower bracket.
Paris is hosting the major Esports World Cup 2026 CS2 tournament, which will take place from August 12 to 23. Thirty-two teams will compete for an impressive prize pool of $2,000,000. Some teams received direct invites from the organizers, while the rest had to qualify.
