Esports player Justinas “jL” Lekavičius, in a new episode of the All About Counter-Strike podcast, assessed his performances for MOUZ as a stand-in, discussed his failed move to the “Mice” roster, and reflected on his personal approach to competitive Counter-Strike.
On playing for MOUZ as a stand-in
I’m not satisfied with my performance at PGL Astana. Maybe I had the wrong mindset going in. I really wanted to play well at the tournament, but it’s tough to return to the pro scene after a long break. Plus, some of the roles were completely new to me. I was in pretty good form back then, since I’d been playing consistently on FACEIT. Overall, we achieved decent results with MOUZ, but my standards are always higher—I want to compete against the best and lift trophies.
On the failed move to the team
I had the opportunity to join MOUZ after the IEM Cologne Major, but we couldn’t agree on certain things. All the players wanted me on the team. Unfortunately, we couldn’t agree on the contract details. I really wanted to join MOUZ. At the time, I didn’t have any offers from teams like Vitality or Falcons… I don’t want to go into details.
On my personal approach to Counter-Strike
I always strive to play for trophies and want to be surrounded by like-minded people. ...> It doesn’t matter whether your team is in the top 10 or below. If the main goal is to win the tournament, then you’ll give it your all during practice and official matches. In some rosters, there are guys who are perfectly content with their current situation. I can’t imagine myself on teams like that. It’s always important to me to keep improving and reach new heights.
