K27 sniper Danila “kashl1d” Dronov spoke in an interview at the CS2 Esports World Cup 2026 about the team’s experience in the open qualifiers for the event, recalled their history of matchups with Team Falcons, and shared his thoughts on Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov.
On the open qualifiers for the event
We had an extremely tough run through the open qualifiers, since we had to play three best-of-three series in a row on the final day. The team performed excellently there, even though the event proved to be challenging for every team. We managed to get through it all, and now we’re here and ready to face Team Falcons today. Perhaps the toughest match was against Fnatic, since it was the last one on the schedule, and by that point we had practically no energy or emotional reserves left.
On our history against Team Falcons
The last time we played against Team Falcons was at PGL Astana 2026, and we performed extremely poorly because it was our first match on the main stage of a major tournament, which made us very nervous. Back then, we looked up to our opponents as idols and couldn’t imagine who could possibly beat them. Now, having gained the necessary experience, our team believes we can win this matchup. We’ll do everything in our power, and we’ll see how it goes. I think Team Falcons has definitely changed since our last match. After all, the event in Astana was their debut with karrigan on the roster, and now they’re already Major champions. In any case, they have incredibly strong individual players—just as they were back then and remain to this day.

The player I’m watching the most is, without a doubt, m0NESY. When I was fifteen, he seemed like a true mentor, but now I want to beat him myself and prove to myself that I’m capable of doing it. We have a bo1 match today; in this format, anything can happen—like Team Spirit’s loss to JijieHao. We’ll see how it all plays out.
Yesterday, K27 lost to Team Falcons in their debut match at the 2026 Esports World Cup CS2 in a bo1 series with a score of 6–13 on Dust2. Danila “kashl1d” Dronov’s team has dropped to the lower bracket of the group stage and will face MIBR tomorrow.
