MIBR captain Linus “LNZ” Holteng shared his thoughts in an interview at the Esports World Cup 2026 following their loss to Legacy, highlighted his team’s main goals, and discussed how sniper Lucas “nqz” Soares.
It was a decent match. Unfortunately, we made too many mistakes. Legacy’s players were constantly getting multi-kills, while we weren’t able to consistently cover for each other. Although the first halves on Nuke and Inferno ended with a score of 3–9, we didn’t give up and put up a decent fight. I’m glad my teammates showed character and didn’t fall apart under pressure.
We want to break into the top 15 of the VRS rankings and consistently compete in Tier 1 tournaments. Right now, our team is pretty close to that. I think we need a little time to integrate nqz and gain some experience.
He’s adapting pretty quickly, despite the limited amount of practice we’ve had together. It might take him another month to feel completely comfortable on our team.
MIBR lost to Legacy in the group stage of the 2026 Esports World Cup with a score of 0–2 in maps (11–13 on Nuke and 8–13 on Inferno). Team LNZ finished the tournament in 17th–24th place, earning $20,000 in prize money.
