magixx on the match against G2 Esports at the IEM Cologne Major: “In overtime, I think it all came down to experience.”

Team Spirit captain Boris “magixx” Vorobyov commented on the dramatic victory against G2 Esports in an interview at the IEM Cologne Major 2026, explained the team’s struggles on the CT side, and shared his expectations for the match against Team Falcons.
On the tough match against G2 Esports
It was pretty tough, to be honest. I thought the match against 9z Team was the hardest one I’d ever played. But there’s always something even tougher ahead, like the match against G2 Esports. Overall, we showed our weaknesses on the CT side. But on the T side, we somehow managed to build momentum. And once we brought the game to a score like 8-8, we were just playing normally. And in overtime, I think it all came down to experience or something like that. Because the game becomes exhausting for both teams. And it all depends on who’s able to stay calm.
On expectations for the match against Team Falcons
I don’t think I’d want another 25-22 game. But we have to give it our all to save Counter-Strike.
Earlier, Team Spirit defeated G2 Esports 2–1 and secured a spot in the semifinals of the IEM Cologne Major 2026. Right now, Boris “magixx” Vorobyov’s team is battling Team Falcons for a spot in the tournament’s grand final.
