Magnojez on his performance at the IEM Cologne Major: “The first stage was much harder”

BetBoom Team and FUT Esports riflers Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov and Lavrenty “lauNX” Tsyrlea assessed their teams’ performances at the tournament in an interview at the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
Magnojez shared his thoughts on the recent matches:
It’s always a pleasure to be at the season’s biggest tournament and to make it this far, even though we’re not playing with our main roster. It’s very satisfying. With every match, we gain more and more experience. Of course, the first stage was much more difficult, since we faced the best teams in the world, and our map pool wasn’t ideal, but we tried to do everything in our power.
In turn, Lavrentiy “lauNX” Tsyrlea explained why the match against BetBoom Team is so important:
This match is extremely important for us, since we came back from a 0-2 deficit. It’s funny because we wanted to go 3-0 in the second stage, but we ended up facing Team Vitality and G2 Esports, who were among the best in that stage—they have very good and experienced players.
In addition, FUT Esports’ rifler shared his thoughts on the victory over MOUZ:
This might sound crazy, but I always try to beat the teams I lost to at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026. I still remember that tournament to this day.
Right now, FUT Esports and BetBoom Team are battling for a spot in the IEM Cologne Major 2026 playoffs. The losing team will be eliminated from the tournament. At the moment, the Russian squad leads 1-0 in maps.
