Mauisnake on sycrone: “This guy works real miracles.”

Analysts Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg, Duncan “Thorin” Shields, and Donald “voo” Parkhurst discussed MOUZ’s success at the recently concluded BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 in a new episode of the Snake & Banter podcast and assessed Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen’s contribution to that result.

About the analysts’ studio, MOUZ, and sycrone’s contribution

Mauisnake: Obviously, after winning the grand final with a completely new roster, I simply have to admit that MOUZ are amazing. But to be more specific, I’d single out sycrone. This guy works real miracles. Last year, I ranked him first on my list of the best coaches. People were puzzled back then—why not XTQZZZ? Sure, XTQZZZ won a ton of stuff, but as far as I’m concerned, that’s more down to apEX and ropz’s performance.

But sycrone pulled off this result practically single-handedly with Brollan. Seriously, Brollan barely said a word in the team-speak video. Meanwhile, xertioN was secretly acting as the hidden IGL the whole time. This is his first trophy as an in-game leader. I’m praising sycrone so highly also because voo and I, in our analytics sessions, constantly discussed exactly how teams should build their game plans against opponents—after all, we see all their weaknesses while watching tons of matches. So, Spirit completely failed to identify MOUZ’s vulnerabilities before the match. They should definitely watch our analytics studio more often. Sycrone, on the other hand, clearly keeps an eye on it, because he knows his team’s weaknesses inside and out and knows how to work around them.

On sycrone’s greatness and torszi’s skill level

voo: I agree about sycrone. Last year, I think I voted him into second place, but he’s definitely one of the best coaches on the scene. That’s not even up for debate. As for Torszi—I have absolutely no idea what they’re feeding him over there. The guy suddenly realized he can close out games on his own. It’s just crazy. True, that is, until they’re one step away from victory—that’s when he just falls apart. And that’s the saddest part. In any case, MOUZ deserves credit, even if they probably won’t win another tournament.

On a roster without stars or academy players

Thorin: I completely agree with you on this. On the podcast, we’re constantly getting annoyed that Kassad—even though he was a coach himself—often judges his colleagues or IGLs solely by the trophies they’ve won. But their rosters feature players like m0NESY or ZywOo. Who do you have? Your best players are Spinx or xertioN. So those who show respect to maaRaa or B1ad3 for working with less high-profile players are absolutely right. And sycrone definitely manages the process brilliantly. By the way, regarding his players: with the exception of Spinx, who was essentially kicked out of Vitality, none of them were famous before joining him. He literally picked them all up from the academy. Even PR used to be one of his players in the youth team. It’s just mind-boggling. And now add xelex to the mix—he’s only 17 years old.

At the recently concluded BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2, MOUZ defeated Team Spirit in the championship grand final with a score of 3:1 in the best-of-3 series and emerged as the event’s champion, earning a total of $266,563 for first place.
