9z Team sniper Ignacio “meyern” Meyern spoke in an interview at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 about the recent match against Team Spirit, discussed the mistakes made in that game, and shared his thoughts on the tournament.
On the match against Team Spirit
It was a tough match for us. We weren’t well prepared, and you can’t afford to make mistakes against a team like that. So it turned out to be a difficult day. On Mirage, there were a few situations where we could have easily taken a couple of rounds, but we made mistakes even though we had the advantage, and that cost us the map. And on Nuke, we couldn’t pull off a comeback; they played better.
On the mistakes
We had a long discussion about the match afterward. I think the game was mentally tough for us; that’s exactly what we talked about a lot. I mean, we went into the server in a different mindset than usual—it was way harder. But throughout the match, we played as we always do and showed good individual skill.
On IEM Cologne Major 2026
For me, it was a dream come true. I play with guys I’ve known for years, and I love it. We want to keep getting better and better, so we’re trying to find consistency. I hope we make it to the third stage.
