mo0N on magic’s CS2 roster: “People are just starting to recognize our name”

Magic’s marksman, Abdurakhim “mo0N” Isa.

Magic sniper Abdurakhim “mo0N” Isa spoke on the OFFSTAGE podcast about the team’s search for its own playstyle and explained how the addition of Cache has affected the team’s map pool.

On changes to their playstyle

To be honest, a lot is changing right now. We’re incorporating a lot of new things and, you could even say, tweaking our gameplay a bit. I wouldn’t even say we’ve reached any kind of conclusion yet. Every day we discover something new, tweak, tweak, tweak. And I think this will continue for a long time—until, well, for example, we start winning everything like Team Vitality, settle on a specific approach, and declare that this is the absolute best.

On the home tournament

At a home tournament, even when you’re just walking down the street, everyone supports you, everyone sees you, and they tell you you’re going to win and so on. You step onto the arena, and everyone cheers for you no matter who you’re playing against—even though this is our first time on the Tier 1 stage. People are just starting to recognize our name, but they support us anyway. Of course, there was more support at the home tournament, and it was easier to play there than it is here now [At the Esports World Cup 2026. — Ed.].

On Cache’s impact on the team’s map pool

I’d say it’s 50-50. Yes, we were strong on Overpass. They removed that map and added Cache, but as soon as Cache came out, we practiced it for a very long time, and you could say we got our map pool back.

magic has become one of the teams participating in the 2026 Esports World Cup for Counter-Strike 2. Tomorrow, Saturday, the team will face 3DMAX in the lower bracket of the tournament.
