MPKBK believes the rumors about m0NESY leaving Team Falcons are orchestrated

I’m practically certain that this [the rumors about m0NESY’s move—Ed.] is a joint stunt on their part. They really stirred up a lot of buzz. ...> In our public groups, there were endless discussions going on all day long. <...> They masterfully got the entire CS community buzzing. I like that kind of thing. And they did it without offending anyone or hurting anyone’s feelings. I mean, it wasn’t one of those situations where—you know—these pranks can really ruin relationships within a team, like falsely saying someone is leaving, and then people end up arguing afterward. Everything was handled very clearly here. A quick denial from the Falcons followed by the signing. In short, probably the most elegant move of any kind in the last two years.

Long-term contracts are a bad idea. You never know what might happen. Maybe the Falcons really could slip to the point where they fall out of the top 20. We’re seeing now that the VRS system spares no one. <...> You simply can’t plan a year or two ahead in CS2 these days. On the other hand, Ilyukha understands that he has endless financial backing. And even if they start to slip, they can just keep reshuffling the roster nonstop. With an organization like that, it’s almost as if you can sign a four-year contract.

Of course, I really didn’t like that they did this after the main roster had already qualified for the Major. <...> It looks strange. I watched this lineup play against HOTU. HOTU is once again the underdog heading into the Major, and they played on equal footing with Astralis. I’m a little worried about this lineup. Yeah, sure, Staehr is insanely good, and ryu plays well too, but that’s the old core. I didn’t see anything from cmtry on the Kalashnikov or from siuhy. Maybe there was some kind of irreversible conflict with HooXi. That’s the only way I can explain it. I think you’ve seen this in teams yourself: no matter what we do, we’ve already fallen apart. Maybe that’s what happened. <...> It feels like Astralis was forced to make substitutions. ...> They had to do something, and they’re making substitutions right before the Major, when they’re already guaranteed a spot. All in all, I condemn this decision. It would’ve been cool to see the Danish five-man squad. It’s really sad that teams like Astralis are turning their backs on their national stars. Even though they do have a fan base back home.
