Rifler ShindeN Nazaren “naz” Romero, in an interview at ESL Pro League Season 24, assessed his team’s performance in the match against Team Spirit and shared his expectations for the match against Legacy.
On Dust2, we played with a lot of confidence and read the game well. On Nuke, I think our team could have taken more rounds on attack, but we made a few mistakes and let Spirit stage a comeback. Overall, we proved that we’re on par with the top teams and capable of competing on equal footing with everyone. Before this match, I read comments on social media—people were saying we wouldn’t even be able to win 10 rounds across two maps. In reality, we almost beat Spirit. So it turns out the haters were wrong.
We’ve never played against Legacy in official matches, but we faced them in practice three months ago. Right now, they’re a strong team that ranks among the top 3 in VRS. We’re in for a tough match. We definitely want to win.
Yesterday, ShindeN lost to Team Spirit in the first round of the ESL Pro League Season 24 group stage with a map score of 1–2 (13–11 on Dust2, 11–13 on Nuke, and 4–13 on Mirage). The team is currently facing off against Legacy—the winner of this match will advance to the 1:1 bracket.
