Pimp called device a more inspiring player for the Counter-Strike community than ZywOo
Analyst Jakob “Pimp” Winneke compared the influence of snipers Nikolai “device” Riedtz and Mathieu “ZywOo” Erbo on Counter-Strike 2 players on his personal page on social media platform X.
device has undoubtedly inspired more Counter-Strike players than ZywOo.
The reason is simple. At the peak of his career, device played methodically and with great intelligence. His positioning was always flawless; he became the player others looked up to and tried to emulate.
ZywOo’s prime years were on a completely different level. He possesses a sixth sense for the game that cannot be taught or replicated through training.
People look at ZywOo and respect his greatness. With device, however, people watched him and thought that what he did could be learned and replicated in practice. Both are among the greatest esports players in the history of CS.
Earlier, Pimp spoke positively about the impact of the VRS ranking system on the revival of local championships, which had disappeared from the competitive calendar during the COVID-19 pandemic. The analyst noted that the growth in the number of small LAN events will allow Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams to earn a steady income and will also attract new tournament operators to the pro scene.
