Representatives from Prestige Esport spoke out after being eliminated from the Esports World Cup 2026 qualifiers
The management of the esports organization Prestige Esport shared their thoughts on the club’s official page on social media platform X following the roster’s elimination from the Esports World Cup 2026: Last Chance Qualifier and published a statement from the team captain.
Prestige Esport summarized the team’s performance as follows:
Our journey to the EWC has come to an end. We lost 0-2, and the team’s run in the Last Chance Qualifier for the 2026 Esports World Cup has ended.
It was an excellent first tournament for our revamped roster. We’re taking away a lot of positives from Paris. This is just the beginning, and we’re looking forward to the next challenges. Listen to jeloh’s commentary, in which he shares his thoughts on the tournament and our performance in France. Thank you to everyone who supported the team throughout the event. We’ll be back.
Joel “Jelo” Lentonen commented on the team’s loss as follows:
We just lost our playoff match against Betclic 0–2. To be honest, our opponents played very well, so losing to them is no disgrace. We had a great run, and we had a decent chance, but I think our lack of experience played a small role. We weren’t able to execute our game plan perfectly—there’s not much else to add there. Nevertheless, this roster is showing promising results. We achieved our goals for this tournament by advancing out of the group stage, so we’re satisfied with the outcome. We’re very excited to see what this team can achieve over the next two months. The event itself was organized at the highest level; we enjoyed our time here and played many great Counter-Strike matches over the three days.
Today, Prestige Esport lost to Betclic Apogee Esports in the decisive match of the last-chance qualifier for the 2026 Esports World Cup in CS2, falling 0–2 in a best-of-3 series. Joel “Jelo” Lentonen’s team finished in 17th–32nd place at the event.
