sAw on the match against Spirit at the IEM Cologne Major: “We had our chances, but in the end, we couldn’t pull it off.”

G2 Esports coach Eetu “sAw” Sahka spoke in an interview at the IEM Cologne Major 2026 following a tough match against Team Spirit in the tournament’s quarterfinals.
“It was a tough and long match. In the end, you could say the better team won, even though we weren’t too far behind. We had our chances, but in the end, we couldn’t pull it off, and that’s the hardest thing to deal with—losing a match like this at the end of the season. But the guys fought hard; I’m proud of them. There were a lot of close rounds that required the team to stay composed. So I’m happy with how they performed, but obviously sad about the result,” said sAw, coach of G2 Esports.
Earlier, Team Spirit defeated G2 Esports in the quarterfinals of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 with a 2-1 map score: 9-13 on Overpass, 16-14 on Dust2, and 25-22 on Mirage. As a result, Boris “magixx” Vorobyov’s team has advanced to the semifinals of the tournament, where they will face either Team Falcons or Team Vitality.
