sidde on FURIA’s struggles in the IEM Cologne Major 2026 final: “We didn’t get the kills we needed.”

FURIA coach Sydney “sidde” Masedu discussed the challenges his team faced in the championship grand final against Team Falcons during an interview at the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
On the first map, Mirage
In my opinion, we made the right strategic decisions, but individually, our players didn’t perform at their best when trading or going for plays. Maybe it was due to the pressure. Our trading on the attack was particularly poor. But I don’t feel like we were far behind our opponents in terms of decision-making; we just didn’t get the kills we needed.
On the team’s issues
We didn’t get the kills we needed because of communication issues, so I think that played a big role. But in the first round on attack, which we won, molodoy did a great job providing information.
Earlier, FURIA lost to Team Falcons in the grand final of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 with a score of 0–3. On the first map, Mirage, Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo’s team lost 8–13, and Anubis and Inferno also ended 8–13. As a result, the Brazilian team finished in 2nd place, earning $170,000 in prize money.
