stormzyn commented on his removal from MIBR’s CS2 roster following the controversial incident involving the in-game character

Former MIBR Counter-Strike 2 academy player Vitor “stormzyn” Yamauchi spoke out on his personal X social media page after his contract with the organization was terminated amid the scandal.
Hi everyone! Lately, my name has been linked to a huge scandal, and today I’m here to share my perspective on everything that happened.
I was playing a knockout match as part of the Thunderpick World Championship 2026: South American Series #2. The match was already nearing the five-hour mark due to pauses and endless overtimes. And in that very round, I got an ace that ended the match (12–9 on the final map).
I celebrated wildly and shouted that we’d broken our opponent’s economy. I was completely focused on the game and thinking about my next moves. Unfortunately, there was a dummy standing right in the middle of nowhere, and without realizing it, I fell for the trap, which led to this whole scandal.
I obviously didn’t do it just because it was a dummy. If it had been a dead body, I would have done the same thing—or, as usual, emptied my entire magazine into it. If an AK had been lying on the ground, I would have jumped on it. If it had been on Vertigo, I would have jumped off the map. I would have done anything and everything I possibly could, simply because I was happy and celebrating.
I have absolutely no thoughts related to this abomination. I hate pedophiles more than anything in the world. I am unequivocally against any form of violence and prejudice. It was very hard for me because of the backlash this caused, and because many people said things about me that aren’t true.
I can’t control what people think. And in the midst of all this chaos, the only thing that comforts me is the knowledge that I’m a good person and that all of this will pass.
I couldn’t speak out earlier because I was advised not to get involved.
MIBR decided to terminate the remainder of my contract due to the public outcry and the negative impact on the image of major brands. Over these past 18 months, I’ve worked harder than ever before, doing everything I could to help everyone around me, and I’ll always root for my friends. I sincerely apologize to MIBR. I never could have imagined that this chapter would end this way.
I am now a free agent and will return stronger, with my head held high. I still have many dreams to fulfill. And no matter how much some people might want it to… that’s exactly what won’t stop me.
Peace to all.
Earlier, MIBR announced that stormzyn had been removed from the Counter-Strike 2 academy roster following an incident during a match against METANOIA Wolves. While celebrating a won round, the player performed an obscene act with an in-game avatar.
