The developers of Counter-Strike congratulated fans on the game’s 27th anniversary

The Counter-Strike developers addressed fans on their official page on social media platform X and congratulated them on the game’s 27th anniversary.
Today marks Counter-Strike’s 27th anniversary, and we’re celebrating by watching the world’s best players compete in the “Counter-Strike Cathedral.”
Thank you for playing. And thank you for watching. Thank you for your highlight reels, grenade throws, fun game modes and videos, jokes, banter, Counter-Strike legends and lore, and local memes that only CS players understand—and thank you for your feedback—for all of it.
But most importantly—thank you for your love and passion for the game. You are the ones who make Counter-Strike the favorite first-person shooter.
Happy birthday, Counter-Strike.
The quarterfinals of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 are taking place right now, featuring a match between Team Spirit and G2 Esports. The winner will advance to the semifinals, where they’ll face either Team Vitality or Team Falcons, while the loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
