The IEM Cologne Major 2026 set new viewership records in Counter-Strike history, becoming the most popular tournament.

According to Esports Charts, the event surpassed 76.2 million viewing hours even before the grand final began. The previous record was held by the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.

In addition, a new peak concurrent viewership record was set during the quarterfinal match between G2 Esports and Team Spirit. The match, which ended in a 2-1 victory for the Russian team, drew more than 2 million concurrent viewers—the highest figure in Counter-Strike 2 history and the highest since the PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
