Thorin compared venture capital investments in esports to gambling
Analyst Duncan “Thorin” Shields commented on his personal page on social media platform X regarding criticism of sponsorship by bookmakers and gambling companies. The expert drew a parallel between gambling and the activities of venture capital funds.
If you hate gambling companies that sponsor esports, then you must have simply adored venture capital firms—the very ones that have been pumping money into the scene for years in the hope of reaping a hundredfold return. Oh right, you don’t hate them, because you’re too stupid to understand what real gambling is.
Earlier, Thorin praised the form of MIBR’s revamped roster, while also noting FURIA’s stability in the top 6 and the potential of the Legacy roster. In his opinion, the Brazilian scene is currently quietly experiencing its best period in many years thanks to targeted roster changes.
