Thorin: “electroNic ruined his career by becoming captain.”
Analysts Duncan “Thorin” Shields, Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg, and Jacob “Pimp” Winneche discussed BC’s decision in the latest episode of the Hot Take Point Made podcast.Game Esports to move Denis “electroNic” Sharipov to the bench, and also discussed the Russian rifler’s slump and the organization’s current roster.
On BC.Game Esports’ decision to bench electroNic
Mauisnake: BC.Game made the right decision by benching electroNic. I don’t think he’ll be able to bounce back after his unsuccessful years as captain, unlike shox or YEKINDAR. electroNic played in Tier 4 tournaments and online qualifiers, but he was still often the worst on the team statistically. Right now, he’s a far cry from the elite rifler we knew in 2021. Even asap, who’s joining BC.Game to replace him, is simply a better shooter and has greater potential.
Thorin: Back in the day, electroNic was literally one of the best riflers in the world. He spent five years at the Tier 1 level, won a Major, and earned the title of a Counter-Strike legend. However, electroNic ruined his career by becoming captain. He became the worst example of a player transitioning to the captain role. I’d also note that he failed to stand out among his teammates at BC.Game. He was a mediocre rifler.
On the team’s updated roster
Pimp: The signing of asap will strengthen BC.Game. Of course, I want this team to compete at a Major, but I don’t see the point in getting worked up over it—they haven’t achieved anything on the server to catch our attention. Right now, BC.Game is just capitalizing on its players’ flashy nicknames. Replacing electroNic with asap won’t turn the team into a regular participant in Tier 1 tournaments. The organization has poured a lot of money into a team that hasn’t shown any results yet. Even if they make it to the Major, they’ll likely be eliminated in the first stage.
