Twistzz on the XSE Pro League 2026: “It’s been like we’ve had our backs against the wall for several days now.”

FaZe Clan captain Russell “Twistzz” Van Dalken spoke in an interview at the XSE Pro League 2026 about the team’s preparations for their match against 3DMAX and thanked Chinese fans for their support.
On preparing for the match against 3DMAX
As you know, our performance in the first two games fell far short of our expectations. We played well today and yesterday. This was a very significant victory. Since the match was late, we had plenty of time during the day to practice. That requires a lot of extra effort. enkay J is doing a great job. I know he’s been sleep-deprived for a while. He makes my life a lot easier. He works in the morning, and in the middle of the day we get in touch, share ideas, and go over the plan together before presenting it. With only one day of practice, you have to put in that extra effort; otherwise, you won’t stand a chance against a team that’s putting in more work than you are. The one who works harder always wins.
On our mindset and chances at the tournament
The work is far from over. For several days now, it’s felt like we’ve had our backs against the wall. We’re constantly facing challenges. And yes, I think every day everyone is becoming more and more hungry for progress and improvement as a team. We’re raising the bar for ourselves. We’re trying to get better. And I think that as long as we keep doing that, we have a good chance of advancing in this tournament. But to be honest, we need to go out there tomorrow and play even better. We need to keep growing.
On the atmosphere and fans in China
Every year when I come to China, it’s the most incredible experience. Everyone here makes our team feel like superstars. Yes, it’s the warmest and most welcoming experience. And, you know, I never want to take it for granted. I look forward to coming here every year, and thank you for your support.
