United21 Series 1 VRS tournament announced
Tournament operator United21 has announced the United21 Series 1, an online Counter-Strike 2 tournament with a $10,000 prize pool. The announcement was posted on the organizers’ page on X.
The competition will take place from July 28 to August 14 in an online format. Invitations to teams will begin to be sent out on July 7, starting with the 20th-ranked team in the VRS standings. An additional condition for direct invites is that only men’s teams may participate.
Sixteen teams will compete in the group stage. They will be divided into four groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will be held in a double-elimination format. All matches will be played in a best-of-three (bo3) format.
The prize pool for United21 Series 1 will be $10,000 and will be distributed as follows:
- 1st place — $6,000;
- 2nd place — $3,000;
- 3rd place — $1,000.
BIG Academy emerged victorious at the recently concluded United21 Season 48, which took place online from April 19 to May 8. In the tournament’s grand final, BIG’s academy squad defeated ALGO Esports and earned $6,000.
